Contraceptive methods are a part of safe sex practices. Proper use of contraceptives protect against unplanned pregnancy and Sexually Transmitted Infections during sexual intercourse. Men, women and couples need to consider several elements when choosing contraceptives, as not all methods are suitable for everyone. You can make good contraceptive choices by reading up and learning about the various types of contraceptives you have access to and discussing your options with a medical health professional.

Male Condom
Prevents pregnancy, protects against STIs. Made of rubber and is 87% effective.

IUD
It is inserted into the uterus to prevent pregnancy. Contains copper and is 99% effective.

Hormonal Implant

Birth Control Pill
To be taken orally by women. Used to prevent pregnancy and is 91% effective
