International commitments

Malaysia has agreed to CEDAW (the Convention on All Forms of Discrimination Against Women), the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) and the Beijing 4th World Conference on Women. These international policy commitments all affirm the right of women to decide on reproductive matters of pregnancy and fertility control and to be provided with affordable, legal, high quality reproductive health services. These reproductive rights however, have not been implemented in policies and services; nor has the government been held accountable to their agreements.
